7th March 2021, Sunday – With the theme of “Stay Safe, Keep Creative”, the organiser Serba Dinamik Digital Sdn. Bhd. in collaboration with Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation Berhad (SDEC), Women and Family Department of Sarawak (JWKS), Old Kuching Smart Heritage (OKSHe), StartUp Borneo, Bookd, and LightCube Sdn.Bhd had successfully organised the Serba DigitalX Creative Week. There were series of activities organized such as Photo Contest, Videography and Multi-Camera Production Training, and talk shows from women entrepreneur from JWKS.
The virtual ceremony started with the welcoming speech delivered by Serba Dinamik’s Chairman, YBhg Datuk Haji Abdul Kadier Sahib. In his speech, he thanks for the full support from by Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation Berhad (SDEC) for appointment of Serba DigitalX as Kota Samarahan Innovation Hub. “We believe all our collaboration and initiatives, especially in Kota Samarahan, will bring benefit to surrounded educational institutions and community in the area. This mission we hope will provide more opportunity to talented and potential entrepreneurs, StartUps, innovators, makers, especially the youth so that we can be ready in the future and equipped our community with latest technology where they can apply their knowledge relevant to the Digital Economy and Industrial Revolution 4.0.”
Meanwhile the keynote address was delivered by Mr. Sudarnoto Osman, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SDEC. He shared his vision for Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) whereby the organisation vision was to accelerate economic prosperity for all people through digitalisation. “SDEC have established an ecosystem that provides services and opportunities for startups including co-working spaced, development programs, funding and investment opportunities, events, technology partners, research and development platforms as well as international market access”.
During the virtual ceremony, the organizer announced the winners for the photo contest. The photo contest was open to public aged 18 years and above and the competition was aimed to create awareness and portray the creation of creativity in line with Covid-19 pandemic. With more than 85 photos submitted from talented members of public throughout Sarawak region, 3 were given top prizes winners whilst 5 were given consolation prizes. The evaluations were based on professional judges and public voting. The top and consolations winners received cash prizes and e-certificates. The main prize RM 2000 was won by Zulazhar Sheblee with his photo showing himself after took Pfizer Vaccination at local vaccination centre in Kota Samarahan. The virtual closing ceremony was concluded by the guest of honour, Puan Norita Binti Haji Bawi, Director of JWKS.
